Irish win in first Derby Qualifier of Hamburg.

Dermott Lennon and Gelvin’s Touch (Touchdown) won yesterday’s first qualifier for the most prestigious Derby of the world, the Hamburg Derby.
A list of 77 riders and horses started in the 1’45m class and 18 finished on a clean sheet.
The fastest round belonged to Ireland’s former world champion Dermott Lennon and Gelvin’s Touch who stopped the clock in 74’04 ahead of Great Britain’s Matthew Sampson and Gloria vd Zuuthoeve (Thunder vd Zuuthoeve) who did it in 76’23 while his compatriot Holly Smith and Quality Old Joker (Obos Quality) settled for 3rd.
